Adopt-A-Nest Program

A Little Tag. A Big Difference!

This summer, the Heart Lake Turtle Troopers launched our Adopt-A-Nest-Protector Program, bringing local businesses, community members and volunteers together to help protect one of our community's vulnerable residents: turtles!

When a nest is identified, a protective cage is installed to help safeguard the eggs from predators, accidental disturbance and other threats while they develop. But our Adopt-A-Nest-Protector Program is about more than simply sponsoring a cage.

Each sponsor will get to learn the story of the nest they’re helping protect - including the turtle species, the number of eggs in the nest, how many hatchlings successfully emerge, and other updates as the nest progresses.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect local businesses, families and individuals with wildlife conservation happening right here in our own community.
